years to wrtie. It's a book of poems for every card in the Tarot
deck. It is entitled "The Paris Tarot."
Maybe it is not conventional wisdom, but I find that com-
posing poetry is the natural complement to writing of politics
and culture. I don't have to mention to my kind of readers how
political and how cultured all the great epic poems are. If anything,
a poet above other kinds of artists needs to think constantly
in political and culture terms, and even adhere to a mission.
It is in the end selfish and even Machiavellian to have produced
such a work. You have to hope that the book itself shoes into the
starting blocks somewhere and begins to repay the debts to the
people and social structures from which it drew. It is certainly
daunting to know that such debts can never truly be repaid.
