Sources have confirmed, and street-hassle is very saddened to learn, that we have lost Democratic consultant and Obama pollster Andre Pineda, a resident of Pasadena who brightened the lives of all who came into contact with him.
A friend of his calls Pineda simply "The kindest man I have ever met."
Apart from his prestigious and impeccable work for the president's election effort, Pineda's firm Pineda Consulting also often worked with "downticket Democrats," and both Pineda and the firm were doing very well at the time of his decease.
Yet Pineda took his own life, leaping from picturesque Pioneer Bridge in Pasadena Tuesday, leaving a far reaching web of grief throughout his own family as well as LA's Democratic community, and of course in many other communities as well. He will be very sorely missed.
The Glendale News-Press alluded to the suicide without naming Pineda.
UPDATE: a fitting tribute and obituary is here.
