So, this explains a lot: Alan Jackson had a good month in December. No, he's not touting what he did in the courtroom. He's touting raising over $100K in a stingy political month in his quest for District Attorney in the County of Los Angeles--Steve Cooley's job.
From the presser:
- Alan Jackson collected $113,870.13 with cash on hand of $108,870.13.
- Well over 100 donors contributed to Jackson’s early fundraising effort.
- Jackson secured over $200,000 in commitments from donors. His fundraising base is expected to grow substantially in the coming months.
His manager John Thomas is claiming "significant momentum." And that is one of those rare true statements from a political consultant. Jackson, in fact, may be the new Carmen, and now with the financial report it's obvious why Danette Meyers had to come out early.
You can bet a lot of that money is disgruntled Pasadena and LCF GOP cash. Never mind Meyers, never mind Jackie Lacey--can Steve Cooley afford to float along much longer?
EARLIER: Jackson takes the leap--with Thomas (December 6).
