When the going gets tough...

by DEBBIE LOPEZ

Somehow, none of this surprises me.

via LANews:
Two Southern California women are accused of trying to smuggle an estimated $100,000 worth of marijuana, with two kids in their minivan, officials said.

The pot --166 pounds of it -- was discovered by U.S. Border Patrol Monday on Westbound I-8 in Pine Valley, Calif.

Agents discovered the bundles of marijuana stuffed into storage compartments in the vehicle.

The 34-year-old driver and 28-year-old passenger, both residents of Los Angeles, were arrested.

Border patrol says a local social services agency took custody of the children.

Ok, I know, a Mom's Gotta Do What A Mom's Gotta Do, but seriously, they couldn't go in on a sitter together?

Beyond that, perhaps discussions about legalization and all the tax revenue that might create for the state could take place in a serious and meaningful way.
