Bi-polar and leather-informed
Spacesuit, check. Ukelele, check. Adagio, check.
There are too many places to be tonight. I'll be at Mountain Bar with the essentialist lesbians, and Rodney will be in Ojai for the festival launch, and Debbie will be tuned into Letterman not Conan.
But perhaps most notable of all: La Didone opens tonight at RedCat. You probably heard about it last week in LA Weekly's headliner; they wrote it up again this week in reader's digestible form. But this Italian baroque opera married via a loaded shotgun to Mario Bava's 1965 sci-fi zombie flick Planet of the Vampires promises to be one of the most...moster...mostest operatic offerings to hit local stages in recent memory. Think Peter Sellars on far better acid than usual. Really. I'll be there tomorrow night, but you can go tonight for the premiere and tell me about it.
