The Tulchin Research poll.
Progressive chowderheads, indeed. A Tulchin Research poll was released yesterday indicating:
Brown - 31%All political consultants, even Mayor Tony's, know that Antonio Villaraigosa was severely damaged in the recent election, barely eluding a runoff despite running against no elected officials, whom he outspent 10-1. But the progressives who run the local fishwraps editorial departments refuse to believe in anything but fairy dust--as do Skelton's and Smith's loyal-to-a-fault subalterns.
Newsom - 16%
Villaraigosa - 12%
Four factors are now working against Villaraigosa. One, his personal life is a mess and Jerry Brown is not afraid to demonstrate howso. Two, almost no rich people want him to run for governor, as they know he not only can't win but his candidacy could cede the state to another Republican governor. Three, he has really delivered nothing but promises to Los Angeles, and his second term only beginning to look like what should have been his first. Four, the Obama administration's decision to tackle immigration issues this year will only leave the nation's leading undocumented advocate, Villaraigosa, standing out in the political cold with a lot of suspicious-looking baggage on the platform.
