At some point, LA will take Portland in earnest and adopt a shared bicycle program, instead of reinforcing the current stolen bicycle program that one sees hawking its wares off of Alvarado every weekend.

The only question is, how earnestly will it adopt it?

The Mayor wants to spend $5 billion dollars of somebody's money--he hasn't identified whose--on affordable housing that isn't really accessible to people who currently live in the City. It would seem that one-one-hundredth of that amount could pay for an astonishing, global-cutting-edge bicycle program, even while benefiting the very people who think they might benefit from affordable housing programs but never seem to.
