The local former fishwrap of record had an unusual editorial policy in the last Mayoral election: it wouldn't even mention the names of alternative Mayoral candidates on its op-ed page.
So of course it now says that "the political pros have more control....we have less information" thanks to...(wait for it)...blogs.
That's right. Times columnist James Rainey solicited opinions on the end of newspapers from some of the very same political consultants who have successfully gamed the paper's local political content to death.
There's a reason why political consultants like to talk to newspapers and don't like to talk to bloggers...and it's not because political consultants find that bloggers are easier to game.
