MayorSam this morning notes our sustained takes on the way the editorial pages of our local newspapers did not honor opposing candidates in the recent Mayoral race.
So last night did LAist.
And KCRW/wwla did last week.
And CityWatch reprints a post here on whether Democracy won or lost a week ago.
When we have written regarding the Mayoral campaign and the way it was "covered", the goal has not been to exploit old media weaknesses. Other sites do that, and in our opinion they do it at the peril of jobs, especially when they bandy about memos that should never leave the workplace.
No, the only goal has been to acknowledge the fact that the way the Mayor's office practiced democracy over the life of this past "campaign" was not democracy, and the way old media serviced the candidates in the past election was similarly degrading to the democratic process.
It's a privilege, to aggregate your own work. Thanks for reading street-hassle through the mayoral campaign. Especially to those in old media who were willing to listen to an alternative take from their own, and who engaged what was said here as meaningful critique rather than snide rant.
